Overview of Practice Area / Department

Our Construction and Engineering Team offers strategic and practical advice to contractors, sub-contractors, developers, property owners and consultants, as well as insurers of construction, engineering and professional risks. A number of the team are dual-qualified in both law and construction/ engineering/quantity-surveying.
Core Responsibilities
You will provide non-contentious construction support and assist with the continued growth of the commercial construction practice in the Firm.
In particular your role will encompass, negotiating standard form and bespoke construction contracts, providing support on the construction aspects of PFI projects and drafting bespoke framework agreements for FM (facilities management) and civil engineering projects
There will be an opportunity for you to be involved with the construction practice's extensive business development program.
Also, the opportunity to participate in the teams marketing and networking activities and the successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to take responsibility for marketing initiatives within the team if they chose.
Key Skills
Ideally you will be 0-3 years PQE or equivalent, and have gained exposure within the non contentious construction field either within private practice or in-house with a construction company.
You will need a good understanding of contract law and a familiarity with JCT forms are essential and a current, practical knowledge of adjudication procedures is highly desirable.
You will be enthusiastic, personable, able to work under pressure with appropriate support and be a team player.
